Iowa Wedding Photographer. Wife. Dog mom to a French Bulldog named, Hank. Educator for legacy-minded photographers. Avid seeker & creator of beauty.
Over the past six years I've had the immense pleasure of photographing HUNDREDS of people during some of the happiest moments of their lives. Sound like a dream job? It really is. Being voted one of the Top Wedding Photographers in Des Moines still makes me blush, but if I'm being honest...my greatest joy is providing my clients with happy-tear inducing photos that preserve their treasured relationships and memories.
When I'm not behind my medium format film camera, you'll probably find me at my farmhouse with a glass of iced tea, rockin' on the front porch or out in the vegetable garden covered in dirt. I'm passionate about cultivating beauty in life & work and am all about helping my fellow photographers build businesses they are proud of. If my photographs or words can bring joy to your life, then I've done exactly what I set out to do.
We danced the night away at Senior homecoming and have been together ever since! Mitchell is the most steadfast, hardworking, and servant-hearted man I know and I'm so lucky to be his wife. We were married on November 4th, 2017 in a quaint country church and the memories from our wedding day still bring me to tears. Our hobbies? Cooking, gardening, going on walks, and hanging out at our farmhouse with nothing too important to do.
Don't we all love a good adventure? I adore venturing to new places and seeing the world through a new lens (no pun intended). My heart is especially drawn to the hospitality & charm of the South and I'm always ready to pack my bags to shoot a Southern Wedding. Also on my bucket list? Ireland, Paris, Italy, Austria, and Germany!
Give me a flower garden and I'm in heaven. Growing up, my grandmother had the most beautiful & intricate gardens for my cousins and I to explore. I'm deeply inspired by the whimsical nature of flowers which is why your wedding gallery might have a few extra detail shots of your bouquet! Its no surprise that the Ana Woods logo is a daisy, right?
I want to be part of the resurgence of things that are tangible, beautiful and soulful, rather than just give in to the digital age." You might notice we do things a little differently around here at Ana Woods. Our camera bags are filled with rolls of film and we tuck handwritten letters into every package. Roots of hospitality and professionalism run deep and our hearts thump for the good ole days when everything was a little slower (and much more intentional).
We could talk for hours about the ways photography can spark gratitude and how important documenting your legacy really is. But really all you need to know is this....we are much more than just photographers. We craft irreplaceable heirlooms for you and your loved ones and we don't take that honor lightly!
Unlike many photography studios, with AWP you'll receive a full print release for your images. That means you'll be able to download, print, and share your images as you please with no extra fee.
Your wedding is not the occasion to hire a novice! With over five years of professional photography experience, I know how to capture your day (and any problems that arise) with ease.
